The Stourbridge Railroad is a “Short Line” Freight Railroad serving Pike and Wayne Counties in Northeast Pennsylvania.  One of just a few railroad lines to survive the downfall of the region’s anthracite coal mining industry, the Stourbridge Railroad thrives in a region that now features small manufacturing firms, convenient trans-load facilities, stone and sand quarries, and a rich agricultural base.  Low taxes, attractive utility rates and a skilled, economical and loyal workforce coupled with inexpensive land and development costs create the ideal combination of economic opportunities for companies planning to expand or relocate to the region.

The Stourbridge Railroad follows the Lackawaxen River Valley for twenty five miles and passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in Pennsylvania.  The “Stourbridge Line” excursion trains exploit this feature by providing visitors to the region with a chance to see vistas and glimpses of the natural world that you can only see by riding these rails.  Browse our site to find out more about the rail line that is . . .   “The Birthplace of the American Railroad.”
